Finding and getting scholarships in Canada is a challenge. The cost of preparing to study abroad is already high. Yet it can also be quite tiresome to look for ways to save money on tuition fees.
Thankfully, there are many scholarships available for international students in Canada. Check out available scholarships and financial aid in some of our partner Canadian schools below.
Centennial College
Centennial College has scholarships available for international students, based on donor criteria. Individuals or corporations donate funds to assist students with financial challenges studying abroad.
Scholarships are available for all colleges and schools. In the School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts alone, there are five scholarships available:
- Halton Indoor Climate Systems Scholarship (worth $1,500)
- Monte Carlo Inns Hospitality Scholarship (worth $1,000)
- Service Inspired Scholarship (worth $1,000)
- Tigris Events Scholarship (worth $1,000)
- V02 Health Focus CSD Scholarship (worth $1,000).
These scholarships may require any of the following:
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- An outline of your planned career in the hospitality industry, or
- Employment in the hospitality industry.
Niagara College
International students can also avail of scholarships in Niagara College. The college considers community and volunteer involvement when awarding scholarships.
- Lyford Cay Scholarship (worth $2,000). This covers those accepted to the following programs: hospitality operations management (co-op), photonics engineering technology, chef training, culinary management (co-op), motive power technician (co-op), construction techniques, construction engineering technology.
- International in Canada Scholarship (worth $2,000). This covers any international student currently in Canada, studying in any school, and transferring to Niagara College. The scholarship covers programs of these streams: Bachelor of Applied Business, Business Administration, Computer Programmer, Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineering, and Hospitality and Tourism.
- Graduate Certificate Scholarship (worth $2,000). Students must complete or must be currently registered in the final year of any academic program in Niagara College, and is about to enter a graduate (post-graduate) program in the same or next academic year.
Fleming College
Fleming awards any full-time international student an an International Education Student Scholarship (worth $345), as long as he or she has a current GPA of 3.6 or higher. The application is made online.
